AkelPad

AkelPad Editor is an alternative Notepad to the one which comes preinstalled with Windows. It includes many different enhancements to the original Notepad.exe and is effectively much more powerful.

Besides the fact that AkelPad Editor supports everything Notepad does, it also supports multi-tasking, opening recent files, reopening documents, parsing a document into all UPPER or lower case, changes the font and background colors and much, much more.

Another great thing about AkelPad is the fact that you can add addition features to the program through the use of free plugins available -- or you can create your own.

When installing the application, you're given the option to either replace the currently installed Windows Notepad (notepad.exe) or install it as a separate application.

In the end, this program is a beast of a notepad and highly recommended to anybody who uses Windows' Notepad often.
